The 25-year-old switch-hitter had a solid performance during spring training, accumulating seven hits in 23 at-bats, which included two extra-base hits.
Before his promotion, Valenzuela had a promising start to the current season with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons, where he recorded three hits and one home run in just four games.
