A 61-year-old woman, Carrie-Lynn Pace, is currently facing assault charges after an incident involving two children who were operating a lemonade stand. The event occurred on August 3, around 9 p.m., in the 900 block of Gladstone Avenue, near Niagara Street.

According to investigators, the two boys, an eight-year-old and a 13-year-old, had set up their lemonade stand when Pace approached them and allegedly became hostile. Reports indicate that she pushed one of the children and overturned the chair of the other, leading to the child falling to the ground. Both boys sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation.

Following the incident, law enforcement was able to locate and arrest Pace at her residence in the 1200 block of Niagara Street. She has since been charged with two counts of assault in connection with the attack on the children.

This incident has garnered attention as it raises questions about the safety of children engaged in entrepreneurial activities such as lemonade stands, often considered harmless summer pastimes. The aggressiveness exhibited by Pace has sparked concern among community members regarding the treatment of young entrepreneurs.

As the legal process unfolds, the community remains vigilant, emphasizing the importance of protecting children and encouraging positive interactions. Cases like this highlight the need for discussions about appropriate behavior in public spaces and the responsibility of adults towards minors.
