A 19-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a stabbing incident that occurred in Oshawa, with authorities still searching for a second suspect connected to the crime. The incident took place on August 11, 2025, when the Durham Regional Police Service received reports of a fight involving three males.
At approximately 6:35 p.m., police responded to the area of Mary Street North and William Street East, where they found that a victim had been approached by two males while he was playing basketball. A verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation, which resulted in the victim being stabbed. After the assault, the suspects fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive.
Following the stabbing, the victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where it was reported that he suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The quick response of medical personnel ensured that the victim received the necessary care following the violent encounter.
Subsequently, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, police took action by arresting Dajon Colley, a 19-year-old male with no fixed address. Colley is now facing multiple charges, which include aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and breach of probation. Authorities have indicated that he will remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
While Colley has been apprehended, the Durham Regional Police Service is actively continuing its investigation and is seeking information regarding the second suspect who remains at large.
