The man, identified as Daniel Senecal, faces multiple serious charges, including break and enter, aggravated sexual assault, sexual interference, and assault by choking. Police reported that Senecal allegedly forced open the front door of a residence in Welland during the Labour Day weekend, where he assaulted the young child, resulting in severe injuries. At present, the child is hospitalized but remains stable.
