Peel Regional Police have made significant progress in an auto theft investigation in Mississauga by arresting three individuals. The investigation was launched following two separate incidents that occurred between April 27 and April 28, during which two Honda CRVs were reported stolen.

On Wednesday, officers discovered one of the stolen vehicles at an auto repair shop located in Brampton, near the intersection of Hale Road and Bramsteele Road. Following this discovery, police apprehended three suspects on-site, charging them with multiple auto-related offences.

Later that day, investigators executed a search warrant on the premises of the auto repair shop. This operation resulted in the seizure of various pieces of evidence and the recovery of additional vehicles valued at approximately $100,000. During the investigation, officials discovered signs of tampering with vehicle identification numbers, commonly referred to as VINs, alongside evidence of re-vinning—an illegal practice where stolen vehicles are assigned new identification numbers.

The police report detailed that authorities recovered stolen registration documents, license plates, and key fobs. Furthermore, they seized an animal that was in need of protection, which was subsequently placed under the care of Brampton Animal Services.

As per the ongoing investigation, there are allegations that the auto body repair facility in question may have been involved in staging collisions, a scheme that potentially compromised the integrity of information shared with automobile insurance companies.

The three suspects have been identified as 20-year-old Shan Nouri from Mississauga, 23-year-old Syed Ahmed Shah from Toronto, and 21-year-old Enias Marunza, also of Mississauga. Each of the men has been charged with five different offences. The charges include four counts of possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break-in instruments, possession of automobile master keys, tampering with vehicle identification numbers, and selling or possessing counterfeit marks.

All three individuals have been held in custody as they await a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton. The Peel Regional Police are actively urging anyone with further information regarding this case to step forward and contact them.
