Police in Peel Region are currently searching for a suspect in his 20s following a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a man in his 50s in a Brampton neighborhood on Saturday afternoon. The authorities responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence located on Clearjoy Street, situated near the intersection of Highway 410 and Bovaird Drive East, shortly after 3 p.m.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from serious traumatic injuries. Acting Sergeant Tyler Bell provided an evening update, stating, “On arrival, officers located an adult male in his 50s suffering from traumatic injuries.” He further informed that a suspect was seen fleeing the scene on foot while dressed in dark clothing. The fleeing individual is believed to be in his 20s.

According to Sergeant Bell, the victim and the suspect have a prior relationship, known to each other before this incident. Although a man matching the suspect's description is connected to the address where the incident took place, police have yet to confirm his identity as the individual they are actively pursuing.

“We believe right now that the person outstanding, the suspect, is associated with the address. Whether or not they live there full-time or have been known to visit, we’re not certain,” Bell stated, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding the suspect's residency status.

Furthermore, police have indicated that they have not yet definitively determined whether the victim's fatal injuries were inflicted by a shooting or a stabbing. As the investigation continues, the authorities are working diligently to gather more evidence and locate the suspect.

Residents in the area are likely to be on edge as police continue their search, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be shared as new information arises.
