Toronto police officers are actively searching for a 38-year-old caregiver, Oghenemaro Dave Ejerua, who stands accused of assaulting multiple vulnerable adults at an east-end group home throughout the month of November. This alarming situation has prompted significant attention from law enforcement and the community alike.

The investigations into these serious allegations began on December 10 after police received a report related to an assault occurring at the group home located near Sibley Avenue and Dentonia Park Avenue, an area just west of the Victoria Park subway station. According to the Toronto Police Service, the incidents reportedly took place between November 1 and November 30, indicating a troubling pattern of behavior over the course of the month.

According to the police statement, Ejerua was employed as a caregiver during the time of the alleged assaults. The officers have detailed that he is believed to have committed a series of assaults against the residents of the group home, which has further alarmed the public, especially concerning the welfare of vulnerable adults.

While the police did not disclose specific details regarding the nature of the assaults, the gravity of the allegations—seven counts of assault—underscores the urgency of the situation. The police have released a photo of Ejerua, providing a physical description of the man as being approximately five feet eight inches tall, possessing a medium build, black curly hair, and black facial hair. This information is crucial for aiding in his identification as authorities seek to bring him to justice.

Furthermore, 55 Division officers have appealed to the community for assistance, seeking anyone with information about Ejerua or the incidents at the group home to come forward. The call for information emphasizes the police's commitment to ensuring the safety of vulnerable adults and addressing any potential threats to their well-being.

This investigation illuminates serious concerns regarding the care and protection of individuals in similar facilities, alerting the public to the potential risks posed by those in positions of trust. As law enforcement continues its pursuit of Ejerua, the case serves as a reminder of the critical importance of vigilance and accountability in caregiving environments.
