"Large Fire Engulfs Homes Near Bathurst and Richmond"

Toronto Fire crews are currently addressing a significant fire at a residential home located near the intersection of Bathurst Street and Richmond Street. Emergency services received reports of the blaze just after 10:30 p.m. on the night of the incident.

The fire has severely impacted a row of homes, specifically affecting the properties between 143 and 147 Bathurst Street. As of 11:45 p.m., firefighters remained on the scene, actively combating the flames and conducting searches for any hotspots that may pose a risk of reigniting.

Preliminary observations indicate that the fire has extended through the roof of one of the impacted units. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries among residents or indications that any occupants were still inside the homes at the time firefighters arrived.

In response to the emergency, Bathurst Street has been closed to traffic between Adelaide Street and Richmond Street. Additionally, Richmond Street has also been shut down west of Portland Street to facilitate the efforts of the emergency response teams and ensure the safety of the public.
