TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) – Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie. On late Friday night, authorities sealed off a road near Nancy Guthrie's home in Arizona, with a convoy of sheriff's and FBI vehicles, including forensics units, passing through the roadblock established approximately 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) from her residence.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed that a federal court-ordered search warrant was executed at Nancy Guthrie's home as part of the ongoing investigation. This warrant stemmed from a lead received by the agency. Notably, no arrests were made during the operation. Furthermore, a traffic stop was conducted nearby, where a person was questioned but also released without any arrests.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1, 2026. Authorities indicated that her blood was discovered on the front porch of her Tucson-area home. Disturbingly, purported ransom notes have been sent to various news outlets, with two payment deadlines already passing without any resolution.

Concerns regarding Nancy Guthrie's health have heightened, as she requires daily medication and is known to have a pacemaker. Additionally, she has faced issues related to high blood pressure and heart health, as revealed through recordings from sheriff's dispatcher audio available on broadcastify.com.

In the pursuit of leads, investigators have reviewed surveillance footage and sifted through thousands of tips. Notably, the FBI has reported receiving over 13,000 tips since the day Nancy was reported missing, while the sheriff's office has logged at least 18,000 calls related to the case.

On the previous Tuesday, authorities released video footage depicting an armed and masked individual at Guthrie's doorstep on the night of her abduction. This brief video—lasting under a minute—provided both investigators and the public with crucial insight into the events surrounding her disappearance.

Experts in forensic analysis have suggested that this video could contain a wealth of clues that might assist in solving the case. Law enforcement continues to seek answers and is urging anyone with information to come forward in the search for Nancy Guthrie.
