The Victoria Day long weekend is anticipated to be one of the finest weekends of spring in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), as temperatures are projected to warm up significantly. Following a frost advisory that wrapped up on Tuesday morning, CityNews meteorologist Jessie Uppal suggests that this might be one of the last advisories the GTA will see for the season, highlighting that overnight temperatures are expected to improve.

Although the temperatures remain slightly below seasonal averages at the moment, the weather is gradually improving as the week progresses. In Toronto, residents should expect some showers early in the evening, transitioning into steadier rain overnight, possibly accompanied by isolated thunderstorms. Forecasts indicate that between 10 to 20 mm of rainfall may occur during heavy downpours, which could lead to puddling on roadways and in low-lying areas during the early commute on Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, light showers and damp conditions are expected to persist intermittently until mid-Thursday. The maximum temperature on Wednesday is projected to reach 15°C, with some sunny breaks anticipated in the afternoon. Conversely, Thursday is expected to be overcast with cooler temperatures, peaking at 12°C and continuing with light rain.

As the weekend approaches, Friday looks promising, with temperatures hitting 17°C under mainly sunny skies. This trend of warmer weather is predicted to continue into the weekend. Saturday’s forecast suggests a high of 22°C, although there is a slight chance of occasional passing showers.
