TTC Bus Collision Leaves Four Injured, Driver Charged

A collision between a vehicle and a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) bus occurred on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in injuries and legal repercussions for the driver involved. The incident took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Danforth Road.

According to police reports, at least four individuals sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash and were subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. The driver of the vehicle, an 80-year-old woman, was charged with careless driving following the incident. The authorities have yet to disclose the exact circumstances that led to the collision.

This accident marks the second incident involving a TTC bus within the same week. Just two days prior, on Monday, a separate collision occurred involving two TTC buses in North York, near Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue. That incident resulted in 13 people being sent to a hospital, all of whom were reported to have sustained minor injuries.

The frequency of accidents involving TTC buses raises concerns about safety protocols and driving practices in the area. City officials and transit authorities may need to reassess operational procedures to enhance the safety of both transit passengers and drivers alike.
