With his exit, the remaining candidates now include MPP Lee Fairclough, who represents the Etobicoke-Lakeshore riding, former MP Navdeep Bains, finance and technology entrepreneur Eric Lombardi, and former political staffer Dylan Marando. The Ontario Liberal Party has set a timeline for the leadership contest, with candidates required to submit their nomination papers by July 31 at 5 p.m. Following this, party members will engage in electronic voting from November 9 to November 20, utilizing a ranked ballot system to express their preferences. The new leader of the Ontario Liberal Party will be announced shortly thereafter, on November 21, marking the end of this significant transition for the party.
