"Teen Brothers Identified in Brampton Murder Case"

The Peel Region police have identified two 17-year-olds as suspects in the recent fatal shooting of a man in Brampton, which occurred on July 5, 2026. The shooting stemmed from an altercation involving several individuals near the intersection of Edenbrook Hill Drive and Earlsbridge Boulevard. This violent incident took place shortly after 3:30 p.m., leading to the shooting of a man in his 20s.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being quickly transported to a trauma center, he was later pronounced dead. As of the latest reports, the victim's name has not been disclosed to the public.

Investigators have prioritized the case and identified two brothers, Shemii Whittaker and Shemel Whittaker, as the main suspects in connection with this shooting. The authorities have obtained a court order that enables them to release the suspects' photographs to the public until 5 p.m. on July 22, 2026, or until the brothers are apprehended by law enforcement.

In a statement released on Friday, police have characterized both suspects as armed and dangerous. Furthermore, law enforcement is strongly encouraging both Shemii and Shemel Whittaker to seek legal counsel and surrender to police.

The police have also issued a warning that any individuals who are found to be harboring or assisting the suspects in evading arrest may face legal consequences, including potential charges.
