He is best known for his portrayal of Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero on the acclaimed series "The Sopranos." His death was confirmed by Bob McGowan, who managed Pastore since his time on the show. He learned of Pastore’s passing on a recent Saturday from Vincent Curatola, another actor from "The Sopranos."
Pastore was discovered in his home located on City Island in New York after he had not been heard from for several days. McGowan mentioned that he had been attempting to reach Pastore regarding a potential job opportunity when he received the unfortunate news.
McGowan reflected on Pastore's character, stating, “He was the most loyal client, and he always gave to charity. He was the kind of guy who would help anybody, which is rare in my business.” This sentiment highlights the warmth and generosity that characterized Pastore's personality.
For over 30 years, Robert Attermann represented Pastore, providing further insight into his legacy. Before his fame from "The Sopranos," Pastore had a distinguished career as an actor. Attermann described him as “one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known,” pointing out that Pastore treated everyone with warmth and respect.
