"Toronto's Outdoor Pools Open This Weekend!"

As summer approaches and temperatures rise, residents of Toronto will have the opportunity to cool off at several outdoor pools this weekend. Beginning June 14, the City of Toronto will launch a partial schedule for 15 outdoor pools, with a full summer schedule commencing on June 28.

This Saturday marks the opening of several outdoor pools, providing a refreshing escape for families and individuals alike. The pools that will be accessible include:

  • Alex Duff Memorial Pool located at Christie Pits Park;
  • Alexandra Park;
  • Broadlands Community Recreation Centre;
  • Donald D. Summerville Olympic Pools;
  • Gord and Irene Risk Community Recreation Centre;
  • Goulding Community Recreation Centre;
  • Halbert Park;
  • Maryvale Park;
  • McGregor Park Community Centre;
  • O'Connor Community Centre;
  • Pine Point Park Outdoor Pool;
  • Riverdale Park East;
  • Roding Community Centre;
  • Sunnyside Gus Ryder Outdoor Pool;
  • West Mall Outdoor at Dennis Flynn Park.

The operating hours for the pools will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. In addition, other pools are set to open on a partial schedule starting June 21. Following this phased schedule, all city pools will transition to a complete operation schedule on Saturday, June 28.

Alongside the opening of outdoor pools, splash pads throughout the city are already open for public use. Wading pools, which are popular among younger children and families, are scheduled to open on Friday, June 27, further enhancing the options for cooling off during the warmer weather.

This gradual opening of recreational facilities underscores the city's commitment to providing residents with valuable outdoor spaces to enjoy, especially during the hot summer months.
