Investigators in Peel Region are actively searching for two trucks believed to be connected to a homicide that occurred in Mississauga on January 20, 2025. The investigation stems from a shooting incident that was reported around 2:00 a.m. in the vicinity of Dixie Road, south of Derry Road.
The Peel Regional Police received a 911 call regarding the shooting, prompting an immediate response from emergency crews. Upon arrival, they found a severely damaged sprinter van parked in a ditch, alongside an adult male who had suffered gunshot wounds. Tragically, the victim, later identified as 24-year-old Gurvinder Singh from Caledon, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Constable Richard Chin of the Peel Regional Police reported following the incident that there had been an altercation between the victim and the suspect or suspects prior to the shooting. The victim, Gurvinder Singh, reportedly attempted to flee the altercation, resulting in the crash of his vehicle.
As the investigation unfolded, police began reviewing surveillance footage from the vicinity and this week disclosed that two vehicles of interest had been identified in connection with the shooting. The police are currently seeking the driver of a black 2024 Ford F-150 PowerBoost hybrid pick-up truck, which features a specific trim package, as well as the driver of a black GMC Yukon or Suburban manufactured between 2021 and 2025.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have information regarding the incident or the identified vehicles to reach out and provide assistance to the police.
