According to the national wildland fire summary, nearly 1,000 wildfires are currently impacting areas from coast to coast. Carney noted the significant effort being invested in combating these fires, with more than 5,000 firefighters deployed alongside nearly 300 waterbombers and other aircraft working to extinguish the blazes.
