On Tuesday evening, a serious multi-vehicle accident occurred on the westbound lanes of Highway 403 in Mississauga, Ontario, resulting in three individuals being taken to hospital, including a child. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that the incident unfolded around 5 p.m., just west of Mavis Road.

Initially, the crash involved two vehicles that collided, compelling them to move to the shoulder of the highway for information exchange. Unfortunately, as the drivers exited their vehicles to address the situation, a third vehicle unexpectedly collided with one of the stationary cars.

This collision had dire consequences, as it pushed one vehicle forward into two individuals standing on the roadway. Among the injured were a 43-year-old man and a 12-year-old child, both of whom sustained critical injuries in the incident. The OPP later confirmed that both individuals are residents of the United States.

In addition to the critical injuries sustained by the man and the child, a third individual involved in the accident suffered minor injuries. Fortunately, the driver of the third vehicle that caused the crash was not injured.

The aftermath of the crash led to a significant disruption on Highway 403. Authorities closed the highway between Mavis Road and Erin Mills Parkway for several hours to conduct investigations and clear the scene. The highway eventually reopened just before 11 p.m., allowing traffic to resume.
