Durham police are actively working to identify a man who was severely injured in an e-scooter accident. The incident occurred on Kitney Drive, just north of Clements Road West, at approximately 3:15 p.m. on a recent afternoon.

According to preliminary reports, the man was riding his e-scooter northbound along the east side of the roadway when he lost control and fell. The fall resulted in a serious head injury, as the individual was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Emergency services were quickly alerted to the situation.

The injured man was urgently transported to a nearby hospital in life-threatening condition. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto, where he remains unconscious and in critical condition.

One of the major challenges for the police has been the man's lack of identification. As of now, authorities are still working diligently to ascertain his identity. They have provided a description to aid in the identification process. He is described as a white male, aged between 45 and 60 years old, standing at around six feet tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. The man is noted to have a bald head and a scruffy grey beard, which may assist in his recognition.

At the time of the accident, he was seen wearing dark green corduroy shorts and prescription glasses. Additionally, he had on a faded black baseball hat that read “Pinewood Toronto Studios” on the front, along with black Reebok sneakers featuring white soles and red accents. The e-scooter involved in the crash was identified as a Segway Ninebot Kick Scooter Max G2.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information regarding his identity or any details about the accident to come forward and contact the police. This information could be crucial in both the identification process and the ongoing investigation regarding the circumstances surrounding the e-scooter crash.
