Toronto police have apprehended a second suspect linked to an aggravated assault incident that took place in Scarborough earlier this month. The authorities announced the arrest of 34-year-old Kadeem Anderson-Binns from Toronto in a news release shared on Friday.

This follow-up comes after the police had previously arrested 31-year-old Vincent Lewis, also from Toronto, in relation to the same case. The incident in question began on October 3, at approximately 1:45 a.m., when Anderson-Binns and Lewis, accompanied by a third unidentified suspect, approached an individual who was walking alone through a plaza located near Eglinton Avenue East and Brimley Road.

The three men are accused of unprovokedly assaulting the victim, an act that escalated quickly. As the victim attempted to rise from the ground, one of the suspects is reported to have further assaulted the victim, resulting in life-threatening injuries, according to police statements.

Following their arrests, both Anderson-Binns and Lewis have been charged with aggravated assault and robbery. However, two other suspects involved in the incident remain at large. Police have released descriptions of these outstanding suspects to aid in their capture.

The first outstanding suspect is described as having a thin build and a mustache. During the incident, he was last seen wearing thin-framed glasses, a black toque, all black clothing, and carrying a thin black bag. The second suspect has a medium build, black facial hair, and long black dreadlocks. He was last observed wearing a black “Nike” sweater, a black jacket, black shoes with a white sole, and was carrying a black and grey crossbody bag.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the identity of the two remaining suspects to come forward and contact the police. This case highlights issues of public safety and the urgency for community cooperation in law enforcement efforts.

The investigation is ongoing, as police continue to gather evidence and seek justice for the victim in this troubling case. The swift action taken by the Toronto police in arresting the suspects demonstrates their commitment to addressing violent crime and ensuring the safety of residents in the city.
