Two men are facing multiple charges following a dramatic incident in Toronto where they allegedly robbed two individuals at gunpoint before attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle. This occurrence, which unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, around 3:20 a.m., took place near the intersection of Bathurst Street and Richmond Street West.

According to reports, the duo approached the victims and committed the robbery at gunpoint. Subsequent to this act, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle that had been reported stolen. Toronto police officers quickly responded by tracking down the culprits and attempting to stop the vehicle. However, the suspects accelerated away from the officers, leading to a crash with another vehicle.

In the aftermath of the crash, the suspects attempted to evade arrest by running away. At one point during the chaos, one of the accused reportedly attempted to carjack another vehicle but was unsuccessful in this effort. While officers were making attempts to apprehend the suspects, one of them displayed a firearm towards the police. Despite this threatening behavior, both individuals were ultimately taken into police custody, and authorities seized two firearms during the operation.

The primary suspect, Tajae-J’nye Samuel-Maragh, a 23-year-old resident of Toronto, has been charged with a multitude of serious offenses. These charges include robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of both prohibited or restricted weapons and firearms. He also faces charges related to possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and under $5,000, as well as multiple counts of possession of prohibited devices.

The second suspect, Kingslee Ivan Christie, aged 29 and residing in Whitby, is similarly facing a long list of charges. His offenses include disguise with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a conveyance, and fleeing from police. Christie has also been charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000. In addition, he faces multiple counts of robbery with a firearm, possession of prohibited devices, operating a conveyance while prohibited, and possession of a firearm in violation of prohibition orders.

Both Samuel-Maragh and Christie were scheduled to appear in a Toronto bail court on Saturday to respond to the charges against them. It is important to note that the allegations have yet to be proven in a court of law.

Toronto police are actively seeking further information regarding the incident. They are encouraging anyone who may have seen or interacted with the suspects, or anyone who recorded video footage of the event, to come forward and assist in the investigation.
