Authorities are currently investigating a tragic fire incident that occurred on Saturday in Oshawa, which resulted in the death of one youth and left two other individuals injured. The fire erupted in a camper trailer located at 309 Eglin Street West, a site situated near the intersection of Nipigon Street and Park Road North.
According to police reports, emergency response teams arrived at the scene to find the camper trailer engulfed in flames. Efforts to extinguish the fire were quickly mobilized. Despite these efforts, one youth was pronounced dead at the scene, while two adults were hastily transported to a local hospital. These individuals sustained serious injuries, including third-degree burns and severe smoke inhalation, both of which required immediate medical intervention.
In addition to the civilian casualties, the incident also posed risks to the brave firefighting personnel involved. Two firefighters sustained injuries while battling the blaze. Fortunately, their injuries were classified as minor burns, and they were treated on-site, allowing them to continue serving the community without requiring hospitalization.
