A boy sustained serious injuries following a house fire that occurred in Etobicoke on Wednesday night. The incident took place at a residence located on Tofield Crescent, near the intersection of Kipling Avenue and Rexdale Boulevard. Emergency services were alerted to the situation shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, Toronto Fire officials reported encountering intense smoke originating from the basement area of the home. Given the structural concerns associated with the building, fire crews chose to battle the blaze from outside, implementing defensive firefighting techniques to mitigate the risk posed by the structure's integrity.
