This incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 4 p.m., near Liberty Village, specifically at the intersection of Dufferin Street and Springhurst Avenue.
According to the SIU, a Toronto police officer was dispatched to the scene after receiving reports that a man had driven his vehicle through a road closure at the intersection. Upon arrival, the officer took the suspect into custody, and the man was subsequently transported to a police station. During the booking process at the station, the man unexpectedly collapsed.
Emergency medical services were quickly called to the scene, and the man was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Sadly, despite efforts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m. on the same day.
