The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is set to launch its phased rollout of Line 5 Eglinton on Sunday, marking a substantial enhancement to its transit offerings. This development comes alongside significant adjustments to the bus network aimed at facilitating easier connections for customers using Eglinton Avenue and intersecting routes with the new light rail service.

In a statement, the TTC emphasized that these changes are designed to improve accessibility for riders. To support the integration with the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, six new bus routes are being established, and 14 existing routes will undergo modifications.

The changes to the TTC bus network are scheduled to take effect this Sunday. The newly introduced routes include:

  • 18 Caledonia: This route replaces the 47 B/C Lansdowne service along Caledonia Road, linking Yorkdale station with Eglinton Avenue West.
  • 27 Jane South: This route partially substitutes the 35 Jane service, operating on Jane Street between Jane station and Eglinton Avenue West.
  • 34 Eglinton: This new route replaces both the 32 Eglinton West and 34 Eglinton East services along Eglinton Avenue between Mount Dennis and Kennedy stations.
  • 151 Leslie North: Taking over the 51 Leslie service, this route will connect Leslie station and Steeles Avenue East.
  • 158 Trethewey: This route replaces the 32C Eglinton West, servicing Trethewey Drive between Eglinton Avenue West and Weston Road/Oak Street.
  • 334 Eglinton: This new service replaces the 332 Eglinton West and 334 Eglinton East, traveling between Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga and Finchdene Square in Scarborough.

In addition to the new routes, several existing routes will be adjusted to better connect with Line 5 Eglinton:

  • 32 Eglinton West: This route will now operate on Eglinton Avenue West from Mount Dennis station in Toronto to Renforth station in Mississauga.
  • 35 Jane: The service will now connect before reaching Mount Dennis and will operate between Pioneer Village and Mount Dennis stations.
  • 47 Lansdowne: This route will run from Caledonia station to Queen Street West via Lansdowne station.
  • 51 Leslie: Service will operate from Donlands to Leslie stations (51A route) and from Donlands to Don Mills station (51B).
  • 54 Lawrence East: The route will operate from Don Valley station to Morningside Avenue or Starspray Loop via Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East.
  • 71 Runnymede: This route will be adjusted to provide connectivity to Mount Dennis station.
  • 72 Pape: The service will now connect to Don Valley station.
  • 89 Weston: Will connect to Mount Dennis station via Eglinton Avenue West.
  • 91 Woodbine: This route will operate from Woodbine station to Lawrence Avenue East, including service to Sloane station.
  • 100 Flemingdon Park: The 100 service will connect to Don Valley station, with an additional service (100B) operating on Linkwood Lane.
  • 162 Lawrence-Donway: Service will extend to Don Valley station via Don Mills Road, Wynford Drive, and Gervais Drive, while service on Donway East will be replaced by route 51B Leslie.
  • 191 Underhill: This route will connect to Don Valley station.
  • 954 Lawrence East Express: The express line will be extended to Don Valley station, while service will no longer stop at Kennedy station.
  • 989 Weston Express: This service will connect to Mount Dennis station via Black Creek Drive.

Additionally, the TTC has decided to remove the 56 Leaside and 332 Eglinton West routes due to the recent network changes. These latest updates are part of a series of adjustments following previously implemented changes in late 2025, which prepared for the opening of Mount Dennis station and adjustments associated with the opening of Line 6 Finch West.
