Driver Flees After Hitting Parking Officer with Car

Toronto police are actively searching for a driver who is believed to have assaulted a parking enforcement officer on Monday after receiving a ticket. The incident took place in the vicinity of Queens Quay East and Richardson Street around 2:25 p.m.

According to investigators, the confrontation began when a parking enforcement officer issued a ticket to a white 2017 Mercedes Benz C63S convertible. Upon returning to the vehicle, the driver entered into an argument with the officer regarding the ticket.

After the verbal exchange, the driver allegedly got back into the vehicle and attempted to drive away. In the process, he struck the parking enforcement officer and collided with another vehicle. Following the incident, the male driver fled the scene, heading westbound on Queens Quay East.

Fortunately, the parking enforcement officer sustained only minor injuries from the encounter. However, the police are seeking assistance in identifying the driver involved in this incident. The male suspect is described as having a medium build and shoulder-length hair styled in braids. He was reportedly wearing a black hat, a white t-shirt, black shorts, and white shoes at the time of the incident.

The Toronto Police Service is urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation. This act of aggression not only poses a threat to public safety but also raises concerns about the treatment of parking enforcement officers while performing their duties.
