A series of violent incidents occurred in Scarborough on Monday afternoon as Toronto police responded to two separate shootings that resulted in one fatality and another individual being hospitalized with severe injuries. The first shooting incident was reported around 3:15 PM at the intersection of Victoria Park Avenue and south of Highway 401.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the location before any medical assistance could save him. Shortly thereafter, law enforcement received reports of a second shooting at Victoria Park and Sheppard Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a second male victim, who was rushed to the hospital due to life-threatening injuries sustained during the incident. There are strong indications that these two shootings are interconnected; however, Toronto police have stated that it is too early to provide specific details about how the incidents are linked at this time.

Duty Inspector Jonathan Rose has addressed public concerns by indicating that, at this stage of their investigation, they do not believe there is any immediate risk to public safety as a result of these shootings.
Authorities continue to gather evidence and witness statements in order to piece together the circumstances surrounding these shootings. As the investigation unfolds, police are urging anyone with information related to either shooting to come forward and assist.
