A man has been arrested in connection with a series of vehicle thefts that occurred in residential parking lots in Mississauga, while a warrant has been issued for another suspect. The Peel Regional Police initiated an investigation in May 2026 upon identifying a pattern of vehicle thefts and attempted thefts within underground parking garages located near the intersection of Hurontario Street and Burnamthorpe Road East.
The investigative efforts employed a combination of techniques, including video surveillance analysis, automated license plate recognition, body-worn camera footage, and extensive community outreach. These methods led to the identification of two suspects allegedly involved in the thefts.
On the basis of the gathered evidence, law enforcement executed two search warrants at residences in both Mississauga and Erin. During these searches, investigators seized an assortment of items including several cell phones, key fobs, key programming devices, vehicle-related documents, and approximately $1,465 in cash. The cash is believed to be linked to the proceeds of criminal activities.
One of the suspects, identified as 21-year-old Prince from Mississauga, is facing a multitude of charges. He has been accused of seven counts of theft of a motor vehicle, five counts of mischief exceeding $5,000, theft over $5,000, and breach of a release order. Following his arrest, Prince was held for a bail hearing in Brampton.
In addition to Prince, investigators have issued a warrant for Gurjeet Singh Virk, a 23-year-old man connected to the ongoing investigation. Virk is described as South Asian, approximately five feet ten inches tall, with a medium build, short curly black hair, and brown eyes. Authorities have urged him to turn himself in regarding the case.
The investigation remains active, with police continuing to explore the possibility of additional individuals being involved in the thefts. The use of sophisticated investigative techniques highlights the seriousness with which law enforcement is undertaking this case, aiming to bring all involved parties to justice.
