Police in Halton have charged a 25-year-old rideshare driver from Etobicoke, identified as Mandeep Singh, with two counts of sexual assault following incidents that took place in Burlington on June 16, 2023. The Halton Regional Police Service has been investigating the case with serious concern, prompting them to release Singh's photo in hopes of identifying potential additional victims.

According to the police report, the incidents occurred around 5:15 p.m. in the south parking lot of the Burlington GO Station. The victim, a woman, was approached by Singh, who initiated a conversation. During this interaction, he allegedly sexually assaulted her, prompting her to leave the scene immediately.

However, the situation escalated when Singh reportedly followed the woman to a nearby business. Once there, he approached her again and allegedly sexually assaulted her for a second time. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries from the assaults.

Mandeep Singh was arrested after the police investigation and has been charged with two counts of sexual assault. Following his arrest, he was held in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing in Milton. The police have voiced their concerns regarding Singh's position as an Uber driver at the time of the alleged offenses, emphasizing the importance of ensuring public safety.
