York Regional Police reported that four individuals have been charged in connection with an armed home invasion that occurred in Richmond Hill, resulting in serious injuries to one occupant. The attack took place early on the morning of Sunday, September 6, 2026, around 7 a.m., on Josie Drive, situated near Yonge Street and Weldrick Road West. During the incident, multiple suspects allegedly forced their way into the residence, where an occupant was confronted and assaulted, leading to a gun being discharged, though fortunately, the victim was not struck by any bullets.

After the suspects fled the scene in a black Cadillac Escalade, emergency services were alerted, and the victim was transported to a hospital where they were reported to be in serious but non-life-threatening condition. Later developments revealed that police stopped the Escalade on Highway 401 in Cobourg, where evidence linked to the home invasion was seized. The female driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was subsequently arrested.

Following an investigation, three additional suspects were identified and taken into custody. A search warrant executed at a residence in Toronto led to the seizure of money, an unspecified controlled substance, and ammunition. Among those charged was Georges-Junior Saint-Elien, a resident of Terrebonne, Quebec, who faces charges of robbery with a firearm and disguise with intent, and who was also wanted for unrelated offences by Montreal police.

Christopher Fils-Aime faced multiple charges including robbery with a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, and several drug and weapon-related offenses. Ivy Hewes and Justin Johnson were charged as accessories after the fact to robbery with a firearm. Meanwhile, authorities continue their search for a fifth suspect who remains unidentified as the investigation progresses.

CityNews reported that the homeowners, a family of four who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed they had not sustained injuries during the incident. Neighbors noted that the residence is shared with tenants, but police have not disclosed further details regarding the identity of the injured victim. The ongoing investigation aims to gather more information and bring the remaining suspect to justice.
