Barrie police have confirmed the identification of skeletal remains discovered near a former homeless encampment as belonging to one of the victims of a gruesome double homicide. The remains were found on August 13, 2025, in a wooded area adjacent to the encampment located at the intersection of Anne and Tiffin streets. This location had previously been the focus of a significant police investigation related to the murders.
Initially, when the remains were unearthed, authorities treated the case as a separate incident, indicating it was premature to connect the discovery to the double murder investigation that had taken place in the previous year. Following an analysis at the Centre of Forensic Sciences, police confirmed that the skeletal remains are those of 45-year-old William 'Blake' Robinson, one of the victims reported missing in February 2025.
Robinson was reported missing on February 10, while his companion, 41-year-old David Cheesequay, was last seen at the end of July 2025.
