The incident began around 9:25 a.m. when police received a call regarding a threat to a student. While authorities initially kept details about the affected school under wraps, it was later confirmed that the threat was directed towards a student at Eastdale Collegiate Institute.
In response to the threat, law enforcement took immediate action to ensure the safety of students and staff. The following schools implemented hold and secure or shelter in place protocols:

Police conducted a thorough investigation to assess the credibility of the threat. After a period of heightened security, the hold and secure order was lifted around 1:30 p.m., allowing schools to return to their normal operations.
Following the investigation, a 15-year-old boy was arrested and is facing several serious charges. These include possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon, and being masked or disguised while committing the offenses. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to face these allegations.
The Toronto District School Board has confirmed that the threat originated from an unknown individual who targeted the student at Eastdale Collegiate Institute.
