The family of Solange Tremblay, a flight attendant who was severely injured in the tragic Air Canada crash at LaGuardia Airport, has initiated a fundraising campaign to assist with her recovery. The incident, which occurred during the landing of Air Canada Jazz flight 8646 from Montreal to New York on March 22, has left deep scars, both physical and emotional. Tragically, two pilots, first officer Mackenzie Gunther and Captain Antoine Forest, lost their lives in the crash.

According to Tremblay's daughter, Sarah Lepine, her mother was seated in the jump seat during the landing when the aircraft collided with a fire truck on the runway. The impact of the crash ejected Tremblay more than 320 feet from the wreckage, and she was found still strapped in her seat on the tarmac. Lepine described the horrifying experience, stating that her mother was conscious throughout the ordeal and has sustained severe injuries as a result.

Lepine provided further details about her mother's critical injuries, which include two broken legs requiring multiple surgical procedures, a fractured spine, skin grafts, and a blood transfusion due to complications from her initial surgery. The road to recovery is lengthy and riddled with challenges, as Lepine noted that Tremblay will likely need additional surgeries and intensive rehabilitation to regain the ability to walk.

Expressing the family's fears, Lepine highlighted the ongoing risk of infection, which could lead to serious complications for her mother’s injuries. With Tremblay expected to remain hospitalized in New York for an extended period, Lepine and her family have taken the initiative to launch a GoFundMe campaign. The funds raised will help cover both current and future medical expenses as Tremblay focuses on her healing process.

Lepine emphasizes the importance of family support during this difficult time, stating, “We are asking for your support to help my mom focus on what matters most - healing and getting through this.” By raising funds, Lepine and her mother’s husband, Denis, hope to take time off work to care for Tremblay during her recovery.

As the campaign progresses, it has gained significant support, raising over $86,000 of its $90,000 goal within just one day since its launch. The outpouring of compassion from the community illustrates the impact of this tragic event and emphasizes the importance of standing together during times of crisis.
