Reports indicate that Allen, 31 years old and from Torrance, California, was apprehended while attempting to bypass a security checkpoint armed with two firearms and knives. Authorities revealed that Allen legally purchased a .38-caliber semiautomatic pistol in October 2023 and had acquired a 12-gauge shotgun the previous year. His social media presence, which included a profile also matching the name of the suspect, reflected a history of posting critical commentary about Trump and the media.

Furthermore, Allen’s contributions to local political causes were apparent; campaign finance records indicated that he donated $25 to a Democratic political action committee supporting Kamala Harris's presidential bid for 2024. His professional affiliations included a part-time role at C2 Education, where he was recognized as the teacher of the month in a Facebook post from 2024.
Academically, Allen was noted for his excellent performance during his studies, achieving a master’s degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. Professors recalled him as a diligent student who frequently engaged with coursework, showcasing his dedication to learning.
His father, Thomas Allen, serves as an elder in Grace United Reformed Church Torrance, a congregation that emphasizes biblical teachings. During a recent church service, security personnel were on hand to manage parishioners and media outside the property. Cole Allen was also known to have developed a video game centered on molecular chemistry and was working on another game set in outer space.
