On Thursday night, Canadian rapper Drake illuminated Toronto's iconic CN Tower with an icy blue glow as part of a promotional campaign for his new album, titled "Iceman." This event was a significant aspect of his marketing strategy, leading up to the album's much-anticipated release at midnight.

The CN Tower, soaring to a height of 553 meters, gave the appearance of being encased in ice due to a dramatic light projection. The event was complemented by a livestream featuring drone footage of the tower. During this visual presentation, a track from "Iceman" played, in which Drake reflected on his personal and professional journey over the past few years, notably touching upon his recent public feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

In one of the tracks from the album, Drake revealed that his father, Dennis Graham, has been diagnosed with cancer, a poignant moment that adds emotional depth to the project. This revelation during the livestream highlights the personal themes that are often present in Drake's work.

The livestream also featured various videos, including a humorous skit starring comedian Shane Gillis and Adonis Graham, Drake's young son. Additionally, a collaborative track featuring American rapper Future was showcased, which is particularly noteworthy considering that Drake and Future had previously been rumored to be estranged.

This impressive livestream event capped off a weeks-long promotional campaign for the album, which had included the installation of a massive formation of ice blocks in a downtown Toronto parking lot. Intriguingly, the release date of “Iceman” was cleverly hidden inside this ice structure, generating buzz and anticipation among fans.

In the days leading up to the album's release, Toronto was abuzz with activity. A dramatic explosion lit up the night sky over North York – an incident later attributed to a film shoot. Drake went on to share images of this spectacle on his Instagram account, adding to the excitement surrounding the album launch.

Furthermore, the City of Toronto announced that a fireworks display would take place at 10:45 p.m. on the night of the album release. This 10-minute show, set to occur over the water at Harbourfront Centre, is also part of a private video shoot, adding another layer to the spectacle surrounding Drake's new album.
