A 39-year-old man from Brampton, identified as Jaswinder Singh Saini, is currently facing charges related to an illegal towing investigation conducted by police in the Peel Region. The investigation was initiated on May 1, following numerous reports from residents concerning vehicles being unlawfully towed from various parking lots throughout Brampton, often during the night. These incidents reportedly occurred without the consent of the property management.
As part of the investigation, several of the towed vehicles were eventually found at a private storage yard. This discovery led police to believe that Saini may have engaged in a systematic operation, prompting concerns about potential additional victims who have yet to report similar incidents. Local authorities are urging anyone who suspects that their vehicle might have been unlawfully towed or stored to come forward.
According to the police release, Saini has been arrested and is facing three counts of theft of a motor vehicle. This situation raises significant concerns about illegal towing practices in the area and the impact on vehicle owners. Investigators are particularly focused on reaching out to members of the public who may have experienced unlawful towing or incurred fees related to such activities.
Saini was reportedly operating towing services under multiple business names, including A1 Flames Recovery and Towing, A1 Flames Towing, A1 Towing, and Alpha One Towing. The authorities have expressed their determination to uncover the full extent of these operations and to ensure that justice is served for any individuals affected by these unlawful activities.
In light of these events, the Peel Regional Police are keen to gather more information and encourage residents who believe they fall victim to this illegal towing operation to make contact with law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing, and police are committed to ensuring the safety and rights of vehicle owners within the community.
