The Toronto Police Service has announced the identification of seven additional suspects in connection with the shooting death of Anthony Taylor, a 28-year-old man, at a Toronto Community Housing building located in Rexdale. This incident occurred on June 1, 2023, marking Taylor as the city’s 12th homicide victim of the year.
Upon police arrival at the scene near Queen's Plate Drive and Rexdale Boulevard at approximately 8 p.m., officers found Taylor suffering from a gunshot wound in a hallway on an upper floor of the housing complex. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Previously, one suspect was apprehended on the day of the incident. Ernest Gyamfy, 30, of Toronto, is currently facing a second-degree murder charge. Toronto police have since actively pursued additional suspects linked to this tragic event. On Tuesday, they released the names of seven more individuals who are now wanted on Canada-wide warrants.
The first suspect, Dejohn Marlin, 23, of Toronto, is also wanted for second-degree murder. Marlin is described as having a thin build and long curly black hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded jacket, black pants, and light blue Jordan shoes.
The next individual, Kobina Ackon, 30, of Toronto, is similarly wanted for second-degree murder. Ackon has short black hair, a goatee or beard, and wears glasses. He was last spotted in a white sweater, white shirt, white shorts, and white Nike Air Jordan shoes.
Another suspect, Gideon Addae, 24, of Toronto, is being sought for second-degree murder as well as possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm. Addae is described as unshaven or having a goatee and was last seen in a black hooded Nike sweater, black pants, and black shoes.
Lincoln Picart, 35, of Toronto, is also wanted for second-degree murder along with related firearms charges. He is described as having a beard and was last observed wearing a grey Puma track suit, white and black Jordan shoes, a black hat with a white “Sox” logo, and a chain around his neck.
Twenty-three-year-old Daniel Addae, of Toronto, is another suspect facing a second-degree murder charge. He has a heavy build and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, grey track pants, black shoes, and a black hat with a white logo.
The next suspect, Kyondre Davis, 23, of Toronto, is also wanted for second-degree murder. He is described as having a thin build with shoulder-length dreadlocks and was seen wearing a grey and black track suit, black slides, and white socks, with a black mask on his face.
The last suspect identified is Justin Nichol, 23, from Mississauga, who is also wanted for second-degree murder. Nichol has long braided hair and was last seen donning a black Adidas hoodie, blue shirt, grey track pants, white Jordan shoes, glasses, a black mask, and a black hat with a “Sox” logo, while carrying a black “Prime” backpack.
To assist in the investigation, police have released photos of all the suspects. They are urging anyone with information regarding their whereabouts to contact the authorities. The case underscores ongoing concerns about gun violence in urban areas and the community's efforts to aid in resolving such incidents.
