Peel Regional Police are actively searching for an unspecified number of suspects following the recovery of nearly $800,000 worth of stolen cargo and commercial vehicles in Brampton. The extensive recovery occurred during an investigation linked to a stolen trailer in the vicinity of Heart Lake Road and Countryside Drive on July 22.
According to a recent press release, detectives were conducting a follow-up inquiry into the theft when they discovered and recovered four stolen commercial vehicles and trailers valued at approximately $105,000. This significant find was part of a broader investigation aimed at tracking the movements of stolen property in the area.
The recovered vehicles consist of a diverse selection, including:
- A 2015 Volvo VNL tractor
- A 2016 Utility Manufacturing trailer
- A 1998 Stoughton trailer
- A 2021 Utility Manufacturing trailer
While inspecting the recovered vehicles, detectives made a substantial discovery of two shipments containing stolen computer equipment. This equipment alone is estimated to be worth an astonishing $681,083. It is believed that the stolen computer equipment had been transferred into the stolen trailers following separate, unrelated theft incidents that occurred on July 17 and July 20.
Despite the significant recovery of stolen goods, Peel Regional Police have not yet identified any suspects linked to this incident. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work diligently to track down those responsible for these thefts.
