Unreleased music by Beyoncé, along with footage, concert plans, and set lists, were stolen from a rental car belonging to her choreographer and one of her dancers in Atlanta. According to a police incident report, the theft occurred on July 8, just two days before Beyoncé was set to begin a four-day residency at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Atlanta Police Department has since announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect, although their identity has not been disclosed. The stolen items included five thumb drives containing unreleased music, as well as two MacBook laptops, Apple headphones, and luxury clothing and accessories, as detailed in the incident report.
Beyoncé's choreographer, Christopher Grant, along with dancer Diandre Blue, reported that they parked their 2024 Jeep Wagoneer rental at a food hall in the city at approximately 8:09 p.m. Upon returning to the vehicle just after 9 p.m., they discovered that the trunk window had been broken and two suitcases were missing.
Grant informed the authorities that he was carrying "some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé," which heightened the concern over the theft. The incident report further describes a possible suspect vehicle—a 2025 red Hyundai Elantra. Responding officers noted that they had located "light prints" at the scene, and security cameras in the parking lot captured footage of the incident.
In an effort to recover the stolen items, police officers canvassed the area where the laptops and headphones were last tracked using the devices' location services. This proactive measure indicates the seriousness with which law enforcement is treating this matter, especially given the value of the stolen materials and their potential impact on Beyoncé's ongoing tour.
Beyoncé's much-anticipated tour began in late April and features her Grammy-winning album, “Cowboy Carter,” which she is promoting at stadiums across the U.S. and Europe.
