The distance between the home ballparks of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners spans over 4,000 kilometers. However, this vast travel distance for the teams competing in the American League Championship Series has provided an opportunity for fans from Canada’s west coast to make a shorter journey to Seattle to support their favorite team. Regular season games in Seattle typically attract a significant number of Canadian fans, creating a familiar atmosphere for the Blue Jays.

If you are planning to travel from British Columbia to Seattle for Games 3, 4, and 5 at T-Mobile Park, which begin on Wednesday, here are some essential details to consider.

Travel Options to Seattle

There are various methods available for travelling from British Columbia to Seattle. The Amtrak Cascades train service operates from Vancouver’s Pacific Central Station to Seattle, and a bus ticket purchased through Amtrak provides another convenient option for the journey between the two cities.

As of Sunday afternoon, hours before Game 1 in Toronto, business class train tickets for Wednesday were sold out. However, some one-way coach seats were still available at a cost of approximately $117 for the four-and-a-half hour ride. Bus tickets, on the other hand, were being offered for around $70, one-way.

If you prefer a nautical route, considering a ferry is also an option. The Victoria Clipper fast ferry, which travels between Victoria and Seattle, has introduced a special “Playoff Express” sailing. This ferry departs from Victoria’s Inner Harbour at 11 a.m. and is scheduled to reach downtown Seattle by 2 p.m. The company promises “special themed drinks and décor” to celebrate this notable matchup.

Flying to Seattle remains a possibility as well, with one-way flights from Vancouver available for approximately $400 on Wednesday mornings, as noted on Sunday afternoon. If you choose to drive, you can expect the journey to take about three hours via the Peace Arch border crossing.

Once you arrive in Seattle, T-Mobile Park’s website suggests several transportation options for getting to the game, including light rail services, which stop within walking distance of the park, along with multiple bus routes. Additionally, both the Washington State ferry terminal and the King County Water Taxi terminal are located less than two kilometers from the stadium.

Accommodations in Seattle

If you haven’t secured hotel accommodations for your stay in Seattle, be prepared for high prices. Hotel rooms for Wednesday’s game in proximity to the ballpark are nearly sold out, with the few remaining options charging approximately $600 per night for accommodations within walking distance.

Last-Minute Ticket Purchases

This information highlights the significant demand among fans as they seek to support their team in a critical playoff series. With travel, accommodation, and ticket prices reflecting the high stakes and enthusiasm surrounding this event, fans are encouraged to plan accordingly to fully enjoy the upcoming games.
