On October 2, while enjoying the scenic views of Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park, the couple suspects that their SD card fell from a camera bag. The idyllic setting did not provide immediate help, and they soon realized the card was missing, realizing the potential loss of irreplaceable memories.
For an entire day, the memory card remained unattended on a rock, until it was fortuitously discovered by a passing hiker. This hiker later posted about the find in a local Facebook group that both Robertson and Simpson were members of, greatly enhancing the likelihood of the card being returned to its owners.
The memory card contained a treasure trove of images that documented the couple's travels across Southeast Asia, Europe, and Canada.
