Auto Theft Investigation Leads to Two Arrests in Brampton

Peel Regional Police have apprehended two men in connection with an auto theft investigation that unfolded in Brampton, Ontario. The arrests took place following a robbery incident reported back in October, where the victim was threatened for his vehicle keys.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of McLaughlin Road and Charolais Boulevard, close to Steels Avenue. According to police reports, the male victim was approached by a group of several men who intimidated him into handing over his car keys. Fearing for his safety, the victim complied with their demands. After the confrontation, the suspects fled the scene with the victim’s vehicle. Fortunately, the stolen car was later recovered by law enforcement authorities.

Continuing their investigation, on April 22, police executed three search warrants across specific locations in Brampton and Caledon. This investigative effort culminated in the arrest of two individuals: 21-year-old Jatin Kumar and 21-year-old Safaldeep Singh, both residing in Brampton.

Kumar was charged with a single count of robbery, while Singh faced charges for uttering threats towards the victim during the robbery. The police, however, did not disclose any additional information regarding the incidents or the ongoing investigation. The authorities urged anyone with knowledge related to this case to come forward and assist the police.

These developments highlight the ongoing efforts by Peel Regional Police to tackle auto theft and violent crimes in the Brampton area. The prompt response to the robbery call and the subsequent arrests underscore the importance of community cooperation and police diligence in ensuring public safety.
