"Two Arrested in Oshawa Stabbing, Linked to Homicides"

A man from Peterborough was arrested on Friday in connection with a deadly stabbing that occurred in Oshawa earlier in the week. The incident took place on Tuesday, when authorities received a call at 4:14 a.m. regarding a man found in the street suffering from multiple stab wounds near Park Road South and John Street West.

The victim, identified as 44-year-old Jeremy Russell, was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center, where he was pronounced dead. Following the stabbing, police acted quickly and located one of the suspected killers later that same day. On Wednesday, the Durham Regional Police Service announced the arrest of 33-year-old Nicholas Robbins from Oshawa. Robbins was charged with second-degree murder and is currently held for a bail hearing.

In a subsequent development, investigators announced that they were searching for a second suspect, identified as 44-year-old Michael Waterman from Peterborough. Waterman surrendered to the police on Friday after being located at a residence near Dalhousie Street and Aylmer Street. He was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and is also wanted in connection with a separate homicide that took place in Peterborough on December 6.

Four suspects identified in Peterborough homicide

Michael Waterman is one of four suspects involved in a homicide case in central Peterborough. This incident occurred after a severely injured man was discovered inside an apartment building in the area of Brock Street and Aylmer Street at approximately 6 a.m. on December 6. Despite life-saving efforts, a 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following this violent incident, authorities had been actively searching for four suspects. Subsequently, they managed to arrest 32-year-old Dominick Rivers of Peterborough, who was charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Police also apprehended 28-year-old Peter Pople, also from Peterborough, and charged him with second-degree murder. Additionally, the third suspect, 29-year-old Kaya Coughlin, was arrested on December 18 and charged with manslaughter.

The Durham Regional Police Service announced that the search for suspects involved in the December 6 homicide was over, and that all individuals believed to be connected to this case would now face court proceedings.
