A 20-year-old man from Toronto is facing multiple charges after an alarming incident involving the display of knives aboard a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Line 1 subway train. The event reportedly took place on December 11, 2023, starting at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the Yorkdale station and continuing to the Glencairn station.
According to a statement released by the Toronto Police Service, the accused, identified as Justin Goulbourne, allegedly boarded a subway train and actively brandished several knives while still on the vehicle. Witnesses noted that he was confronted by members of the public during this tense situation.
The precise circumstances leading up to the suspect's actions have not been disclosed by investigators. However, it has been confirmed that there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident. Following the confrontation, Goulbourne managed to flee the scene but was later arrested by law enforcement officials.
