Toronto police recently reported the arrest of a man suspected of distributing sexually explicit materials to children in an east-end park. The troubling incident took place at Withrow Park, located in the area of Logan and Danforth avenues, on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Concerns were raised when parents in the vicinity contacted the police, informing them that a man was approaching children and handing out papers that contained sexual messaging. This alarming situation prompted immediate police action; however, by the time officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled the area.
Following an investigation, police were able to apprehend the suspect on the following Monday. The individual has been identified as Andrei Chiose, a 45-year-old resident of Toronto. Authorities have charged Chiose with multiple offenses, including nine counts of criminal harassment and nine counts related to the import, sale, or distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material. Additionally, he faces one count of breach of probation.
The arrest highlights the ongoing concern regarding the safety of children in public spaces, especially in light of such predatory behavior. Law enforcement officials are continuing their inquiries to ensure that the community remains secure and that any further threats are addressed promptly.
