In a tragic incident on Thursday night, a man in his 40s lost his life due to a shooting in Richmond Hill. The authorities received reports regarding the shooting around 7 p.m. and quickly dispatched officers to the scene located on Parker Avenue near King Road.
Upon their arrival, officers found the victim lying on the road with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, Constable James Dickson confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
Following the shooting, investigators were alerted to a nearby vehicle fire that occurred close to King Road and Dufferin Street.
