KIMBERLEY, B.C. – Tragic news has emerged from southeastern British Columbia, where police have confirmed the recovery of two bodies following a devastating incident at Meachen Creek Falls. A third individual, part of the same hiking group, is currently presumed dead after the trio fell over the waterfall.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Kimberley received an SOS signal on Monday, September 1, 2025, indicating that three hikers had fallen into a perilous section of the creek. Emergency responders quickly mobilized to the scene to begin their search and recovery operations.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a 68-year-old woman located approximately halfway down the falls.
